A STROLL AROUND GIRONA

Girona is a historic city, which dates back more than 2,000 years. One of the best ways to unwind during your holidays would be to spend a whole afternoon wandering around the city. The delightful city has small alleyways, picturesque buildings and bridges crossing the Onyar River.

There’s a good range of attractions and areas to visit, but the most important ones are:

Santa María cathedral, featuring a blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
Sant Feliu basilica, known for its belfry, which was once part of the city’s ancient walls.
The Jewish quarter with its picture-perfect streets, where you’ll find some of the city’s most romantic spots.
Onyar houses – these colourful dwellings are perched on the River Onyar’s banks. The best views of them are from any of the city’s bridges.
There are several bridges crossing the river but the best known is Eiffel Bridge.
